something new from stockholm, ikea stockholm

IKEA Stockholm, IKEA's higher end, still affordable, home furnishing line is coming out with a few new great pieces. My favorite of the new items is the IKEA Stockholm side table. This piece comes in both white/golden-brown and black with a glass swiveling top that opens up to provide a little hidden storage space for remotes, nail files, Chinese food menus or whatever else you want to hide from your guests. Oh, did I mention the amazing price of $99.99. I love it's simple lines and great attention to design and details. The white/golden-brown version could appear a bit cold and sterile, but it has been warmed up with the golden-brown oak banding around the storage portion of the table, making it an excellent table to pair with the IKEA Stockholm sofas or the KARLSTAD series.

Only trouble is, making an appearance on the website doesn't exactly mean that it's even arrived in the states yet. That was one of my biggest issues during my stint as a visual merchandiser for IKEA. You see a great new item, you get excited about making room on the sales floor to display it and next thing you know, you are waiting months on end until it actually arrives in self-serve. I'll just keep checking stock each day until it arrives.
